Spinwave Systems has introduced a wireless sensor network solution specifically targeted for the energy management and building automation industries. Wireless nodes use IEEE 802.15.4 radios at 2.4 GHz for optimal network throughput and scalability, catering to a
global customer base. In addition to the radio-intrinsic DSSS modulation, Spinwave has solved the reliability problem through the development of three patent-pending frequency-hopping techniques that serve to provide ultra-high reliability (by avoiding RF
interference), and minimize power consumption while optimizing data throughput.
The new wave of wireless sensor networks will change the building automation industry by reducing costs and increasing flexibility, making the use of sensors to establish and maintain highly energy-efficient building operation and healthy and productive work spaces affordable in an increasing number of existing and new applications.
