Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments (www.GAOInstruments.com) has released its handheld visible fault locator (GAO 811). This new visible red laser diode fault locator is designed to find faults in fiber jumpers, patch panels, enclosures, connectors and couplers. The fault locator uses visible light to indicate the location of the fault be it from a macro bend point, break, problem coupler or connector, or a mechanical splice that is not well aligned.

GAO 811 handheld laser source remedies the usual limitation of the dead zone of an OTDR and detects fiber fault positions accurately. It is an ideal instrument for optical network installation and maintenance.

GAO’s Visible Fault Locator provides the following features:

1. Visible laser source

2. Perfect helper for OTDR

3. Suitable for SM, MM fiber

4. Adapters support different ports

5. Low voltage warning, automatic power off and energy-saving design

6. Small size, simple button operation

7. Tests fiber bend & break faults
