A 4U Rack Mount PC System with Front-accessible I/O Ports

Advantech introduced today its first OEM-Ready Network Application Platform based on the latest Intel(r) Xeon(r) 3400 series Quad Core processor and Intel(r) 3420 PCH chipset. The 1U rackmount FWA-4208 targets Network Security OEM’s seeking to improve the entry-level cost point of high-performance systems for small-to-medium businesses (SMB’s). The FWA-4208 provides the hardware platform for multi-gigabit filtering and intrusion prevention performance across nine GbE ports. The system scales to meet additional port expansion requirements or add-on hardware acceleration needs.

Portwell’s new CAD-0205, an ultra low voltage desktop network appliance with maximum power consumption of less than 30 watts, utilizing the new Intel Atom processor N450. The compact CAD-0205 measures only approximately half the size of A4 paper, and is suitable for entry-level network security applications.

Over 160 professionals from 13 countries attended the 2005 World Partner Conference of Advantech Corporation, Industrial Automation Group. The Conference was held in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel June 2-4. The conference consisted of three days of general session presentations by Advantech executives and partners, breakout sessions featuring partner success sharing, and an exhibit hall featuring products that will join Advantech’s line-up in the near future. New products featured included wireless data acquisition (ADAM) devices, mobile telephone data communication devices, and sunlight readable HMIs.
