One of my stops earlier this year brought me to the Automation Technology Expo West in Anaheim. The Kuka Robotics booth there had an interesting demo I passed a couple times during the day. One of their large orange robots was wielding a toy light saber, slashing away with broad motions. On closer inspection, I found the robot was taking its commands from a young woman wielding a Wii-mote. Later in the day, the robot and the Wii-mote were still going strong, but the woman’s gesticulations had waned, moving less broadly and at longer intervals than they had been in the morning.
