HIMA, a leading manufacturer of safety automation solutions, announced today that its popular SILworX engineering tool is now available for use with its HIMatrix product series.
SILworX simplifies the hardware configuration and allows for version comparisons of individual projects within HIMatrix systems. Changes can be easily tracked and no longer require a technical approval of the entire system. In addition, hardware and software parameterisation is clearly displayed in one window.
The SILworX tool, which was originally developed for the HIMax system, adds significant value to the HIMatrix system by providing common configuration, programming and diagnostic tools. In addition, SILworX simplifies the creation of application software, while helping to reduce planning and engineering costs.
SILworX provides customers with a fully integrated software platform that simplifies the engineering process over the entire lifecycle, while also making it more efficient and economical. The tool is very easy to use because of an intuitive step-by-step user interface with a graphic action bar and a total graphic drag-and-drop programming option.
The design of the graphic interface provides user-friendly access to many features, such as the quick overview function and powerful navigation. Additionally, safe programming and functions – such as Force I/O commands, program validation with offline simulation and version comparison – guarantee a high level of applications safety.
Existing function blocks and applications can be used for both HIMA systems. This means that only one training course is necessary, and the update costs for only one tool are required. Users of other HIMA engineering tools, such as ELOP II and ELOP II Factory, will find an easy transition to the SILworX environment.
With the new SILworX tool, multiple safety applications can be managed within one project. The program structure allows for easy communications between individual safety systems using a simple drag-and-drop techniques. Users become familiar with the system by using its logical program structure that features a project tree, action bar and status view.
In addition, it is now possible to combine HIMax and HIMatrix components in a single installation which allows customized solutions. For example, a HIMax CPU can be used with HIMatrix RIOs (Remote I/O), which is very cost-effective when only a few I/Os need to be installed remotely from the main CPU cabinet.
