Embedded Alley Continues to Build Leadership Team:
Industry Veteran Brings Two Decades of Management Experience and Expertise to Oversee Growth in Services, Technology and Product Offerings
San Jose, CA, November 25, 2008 — Embedded Alley, a leading provider of embedded Linux® solutions, today announced that Ken Keller was joining the firm as vice president of engineering. In this capacity, Keller will lead the Embedded Alley technical team, focusing on delivery of value-added products, as well as optimizing the current services and technology offerings. Embedded Alley will also draw upon Keller’s extensive expe-rience in managing teams building highly available platforms for telecom and other mis-sion-critical systems to help grow the company’s existing communications infrastructure business.
Ken brings over two decades of technology and management experience to Embedded Alley. Starting in 2000, Ken founded and ran the MontaVista Software Design Center in Tempe, Arizona, where his team specialized in kernel and networking development in concert with the Linux developer community. His team there also pioneered the design and development of the first Carrier Grade Linux implementations. Prior to MontaVista, Ken was manager and chief architect for Motorola Computer Group Cross Industry Busi-ness Unit, responsible for system architecture and embedded OS support for VME, Com-pactPCI and motherboard product lines based on Power and Intel Architectures. Ken also conveys additional applications experience in automotive systems, process control, robot-ics and automated test equipment.
“Recruiting Ken exemplifies how Embedded Alley has been able to attract world-class engineering talent,” noted Paul Staudacher, Embedded Alley president. “With Ken on board, we can focus our technical team on meeting customer and market requirements, enabling planned growth in both products and services”.
In this vein, Keller will be refining engineering processes, establishing program man-agement standards, and implementing project and engineering automated tracking sys-tems. He will also interface directly with Embedded Alley customers as a hands-on pro-gram manager. “Embedded Alley has all the pieces needed for growth in a dynamic marketplace – talent, technology and Tier I customers” noted Keller. “My job will be to scale operations to meet growing demand for services, while helping the organization to develop and deliver innovative embedded technology.”
