dSPACE TargetLink and BTC EmbeddedTester Certified for ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 Model-based Development and Testing of Safety-Critical Applications

dSPACE and BTC Embedded Systems AG together provide a tool chain that supports model-based development and model-based testing of safety-critical applications.

April 26th, 2010

Wixom, Michigan, April 26, 2010: dSPACE and BTC AG together provide a tool chain that supports -based development and model-based testing of applications. The dSPACE production code generator and the model-based test tool BTC EmbeddedTester interact seamlessly and have been especially certified by TÜV SÜD, a German certification authority, for use in safety-related projects according to ISO 26262 and IEC 61508. This relieves users of the need to perform additional, costly tool qualification measures.

A reference workflow has been created for users as a guide for model-based, ISO 26262/IEC 61508-compliant development procedures. This reference workflow is based on experience and on proven methods from successfully completed safety-related production projects, and has also been approved by TÜV SÜD. The methods proposed in the workflow are directly recommended by the standards. Using the reference workflow as a guide makes it easier for users to prove that their development approaches are suitable for safety-related software. All in all, users can perform the model-based development of safety-related applications very efficiently by using the established tool chain from dSPACE and BTC Embedded Systems.
