CAN in Automation (CiA) GmbH has scheduled a CANopen seminar series in North America for 2007. The one-day seminars provide an overview of the CANopen higher-layer protocol. CANopen is the standardized CAN-based higher-layer protocol for embedded networks (EN 50325-4). The information provided will enable development engineers and system integrators to judge if CANopen is suitable for their application.
Participants will be taking a detailed look at the technical opportunities of the basic and of additional protocols. Important aspects of system design will be demonstrated. CiA trainers will also explain the CANopen device and application profiles that enable a high degree of “plug-and-play” compatibility between devices. It will be useful for participants to know basics of the CAN protocol before attending.
