The ability to deploy embedded compute modules in challenging environmental conditions is especially critical for many embedded industrial systems that find their way into applications where air conditioning and other amenities are often limited or nonexistent. This article examines several applications of System-On-Module (SOM) designs that save costs while meeting this challenge.
